Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for LGBTQ+ Folx - Zoom

Start Date: Not currently recruiting. Please check back again or reach out for individual ACT Training!

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or “ACT” is a mindfulness-based behavioral therapy that focuses on psychological flexibility and valued engagement in life. ACT in a nutshell can be summarized as be present, open up, and do what matters. The goal of ACT is not to eliminate certain parts of one’s experience of life, but rather to learn how to experience life more fully, without as much struggle, and with vitality and commitment.

In this group, we will explore the core elements of ACT like defusion, acceptance and committed action, and walk through examples of how to apply the tools and techniques in our daily lives. Group participants will be assigned weekly homework.

Who is this group for?

  • Those experiencing stress, anxiety and depression

  • Anyone looking to work towards a fulfilling and meaningful life

  • Those looking to stop “fighting” with their thoughts and feelings

  • LGBTQ+ Folx ages 21 and older

Group Details

This group is specifically for LGBTQ+ Folx (ages 21+) looking to change the relationship with their anxiety, stress and depression. The group will run via Zoom on a weekly basis for 60 minutes.
